E Ink's Prism 3 color display technology, initially intended for digital signage, is now making it into customizable laptops and smartphones. Lenovo plans to launch a laptop featuring an E Ink Prism 3 display panel, allowing users to personalize the colors and patterns on the lid.
E Ink for Customizable Colors and Patterns on the Back of Infinix Smartphones
Smartphone manufacturer Infinix showcased prototype phones at CES utilizing Prism 3 technology, introducing E-Color Shift Technology. This innovation employs E Ink Prism 3 displays to create up to 60 customizable areas on the phone's back, supporting eight different colors. Users can modify the phone's color, switch patterns, or display various designs.
Prism 3 screens, like all E Ink displays, consume power only during image transitions, requiring minimal energy to switch colors or patterns. Selected graphics remain displayed indefinitely without additional power consumption, even if the battery is depleted. While Infinix is still addressing thermal and thickness challenges, the prospect of Prism 3 displays in their phones may become a reality in the next year or two, offering users a unique and energy-efficient customization experience.
Other Innovative Showcase of Infinix
Infinix introduces AirCharge technology, aiming to revolutionize charging by eliminating the need for cords. AirCharge allows users to wirelessly charge their phones from a distance, providing convenience and decluttering spaces. The technology utilizes multi-coil magnetic resonance and intelligent algorithms, enabling charging power transmission up to 20 cm away. Notably, devices can receive a charge even when placed at a 60-degree angle.
To address safety concerns, Infinix ensures the system operates below 6.78 MHz and incorporates protective circuits, providing a secure and worry-free wireless charging experience. To enhance user convenience, Infinix's AirCharge technology embraces a wire-free future, enabling users to charge their phones effortlessly while engaging in other activities.
Infinix also introduces the Extreme-Temp Battery, a groundbreaking feature designed to withstand extreme temperatures, from bone-chilling -40 °C to a toasty 60°C. Utilizing biomimetic electrolyte and fusion solid-state technology, this innovative battery ensures reliable performance regardless of weather conditions.
